He wants to swing, from the chandelier! For Saturday Night Live‘s highly anticipated Halloween episode on Oct. 25, guest host Jim Carrey pulled out all the stops. Starting off the night dressed as “Hellvis” (a hybrid of the devil and Elvis), the comedy legend sang an original song about his love of pecan pie.
Later in the evening, he participated in an office costume contest skit, competing with SNL star Kate McKinnon after they both dressed like child dancer Maddie Ziegler from Sia‘s now-famous “Chandelier” music video.
Naturally, the pair were forced into a dance-off which led them off the stage, into the audience, past SNL creator Lorne Michaels, and over to musical guest Iggy Azalea, who threw off her hoodie, revealing the same dancer costume.

The energy-packed dance was filled with references to the original, but also featured some of Carrey’s own hilarious moves. But the “Chandelier” bit wasn’t the Dumb and Dumber To star’s only highlight of the evening.
He also took a walk down memory lane in the “Carrey Family Reunion” sketch. In it, SNL featured players like Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan pretended to be the actor’s relatives, who sported a strong resemblance to some of his most memorable characters like The Mask and Ace Ventura. Dumb and Dumber fans got a special treat when Carrey’s costar Jeff Daniels came out dressed like Lloyd Christmas.
